Nila Williamson
Registered Dietitian/Lactation Consultant
MPH, RD, IBCLC
Nila is a pediatric registered dietitian and internationally board certified lactation consultant, and believes that good nutrition is about more than just what types of food we eat. Equally important is the connection with others experienced during meals and feedings.
Nila works with children and families of all ages. She supports newborns and new parents with the early difficulties of learning to latch and breastfeed, and to build confidence navigating this intense and confusing time. As children grow she assists with mealtime strategies for “picky eaters.” She monitors growth and ensures children meet their nutrient needs, while working with you to define roles, decrease power struggles and rebuild trust. Nila also has experience working with those that are hesitant or anxious about food, and will work with you and your child’s feeding team to advance their skills, acceptance/comfort, and intake of a wide variety of foods. If your child uses a feeding tube, she can provide close monitoring of growth and intake while together you create and adjust an individualized feeding plan to wean and transition to food by mouth.
Nila has 20 years of public health and clinical nutrition work experience as a dietitian and IBCLC; working at various settings including WIC, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and WA State Department of Health. In 2021 she joined Olympia Pediatrics, providing nutrition and lactation counseling. In 2024 she created Babies Suck Lactation, a local one-on-one lactation consulting practice, and began partnering with South Sound Parent to Parent to provide early intervention feeding and nutrition care.
When she’s not working Nila can be found around town on a trail with her dog, or at various activities with her young kids. Reading, needlework crafts, and true crime podcasts are also interests that she doesn’t have much time for.
